Who We Are

FIDACA is a small community and information hub for people affected by blindness and low vision, and for the people who love and support them.

We were built around a simple idea: that facing vision loss is easier when you are not facing it alone, and that good information should not be hard to find. Whether you are newly navigating a diagnosis, supporting a family member, or simply looking to understand more about life with visual impairment, we hope this site gives you a useful place to start.

Our work centers on three things. First, information: plain-language guides and articles on the practical realities of vision loss, from daily living to technology to advocacy. Second, connection: pointers to organizations, services, and communities around the world that specialize in areas we cannot cover ourselves. Third, encouragement: stories and reflections that speak honestly to the challenges of vision loss without losing sight of the full, rich lives that blind and visually impaired people lead.

We are not a medical provider, a law firm, or a government agency, and nothing here should be treated as professional advice. We are, at heart, a small group of people who care about this community and want to make one corner of the internet a little more useful and a little more welcoming for it.
